If you are thinking of playing Jeopardy with your students to create a fun way to motivate kids and help them review important materials then you should create a PowerPoint Jeopardy template.  This will make the game easy for you to manage.

Creating a Jeopardy PowerPoint template will make it easy for you to often play the game with the students because you will not have to recreate the game every time you play.  When the game is made in PowerPoint it also looks more professional and makes it more fun for the kids to play.

The first thing you need to do is create your categories and questions.  You should have as many different categories that you can and as many questions as you can think of.  The questions and categories will be created in Excel on a spreadsheet.  You will put the categories at the top of each column with the answers and questions in each row underneath the questions.  This spreadsheet will be linked to the PowerPoint slide so they will pop up when you click on them.

When creating the Jeopardy PowerPoint you will create a master slide with the answers.  This will be a table with the categories and the dollar amounts in each of the rows below.  In each square where the dollar amounts are you will highlight them and use CTL + K which will allow you to create a hyperlink.  This will be when you select the questions from your Excel spreadsheet and link them to the appropriate category and questions.  Remember each answer slide needs to be linked back to the main PowerPoint Jeopardy slide.  When you have completed the slides verify that every hyperlink works so you don’t have any problems while you are playing the game.

After you have created the slides for your PowerPoint Jeopardy you can design the colors and the font to the way you would like the game board to look.  Be sure the font is consistent throughout the slides and the colors match so it looks nice.

PowerPoint Jeopardy is a fun way for students to learn and it is easy to setup.  PowerPoint is the best way to setup a Jeopardy game because you can repeatedly use the same template over and over without having to recreate the game every time.

Download the software and get into the game!
